A traditional havan (hom) was performed along with the Shanti ritual near the Rajya Vihar in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. The havan was performed on the eve of the five-day Rumindehi Mai Mela, which will be held in the southeast near the Mayadevi Temple in Lumbini on the occasion of Chaite Purnima.

Lumbini Provincial Assembly member CK Gupta and acting chief of Lumbini Cultural Municipality Kalpana Harijan performed the havan along with the shaman at the program organized by Lumbini Cultural Municipality-3, Padariagrambasi.

Omkar Pandey, central member of Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, said that the havan program was organized to make the Rumindehi Mai Mela, which is of historical and cultural importance, dignified.
