Lumbini Shakyamuni Old Age Home President Omkar Pandey has urged for maintaining peace and harmony in the Shakya dynasty capital Kapilvastu, which has been in turmoil and unusual conditions for the past three days.
Stating that it is sad that Kapilvastu, the birthplace of the message of peace in the world, is in turmoil, he said that it is time for all parties and communities to follow the teachings of Buddha and show compassion, friendship and harmony.
Stating that the path and teachings of non-violence, peace and human welfare shown by Gautam Buddha are equally relevant in the current turbulent Kapilvastu incident, he claimed that all parties should work together to make life easier at the Buddha site.
‘If we can move forward by accepting the teachings and guidance of Buddha, the unity, tolerance and mutual harmony that Kapilvastu needs now will take it to a new height and help restore peace,’ he said.
The southern part of the district has become restless after a religious dispute broke out in Bardaga village, Maharajgunj Municipality-2, last Saturday.
