The Siddhababa section of the Siddha Highway has been reopened after the rain stopped. The local administration had banned vehicle movement after small and large stones fell in the Siddhababa area after it rained since Saturday morning.
The Siddhababa area of Tinau Rural Municipality-3 under the Tansen-Butwal road section was closed after heavy rain increased the risk. The road was reopened as soon as the risk decreased after the rain stopped, said Hom Prakash Chaudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Palpa.
It has been raining in Palpa and other Siddhababa areas since Friday. There is a risk on the Siddhababa Highway from Dobhan Police Post to Chidiyakhola. Even though the tunnel is under construction, the problem of falling stones outside it is the same. Hundreds of vehicles were stopped in Prabhas, Butwal, Dobhan, Kerabari, Jordhara and other places after vehicles were not allowed to ply in the Siddhababa area.
The police did not allow vehicles coming from Butwal to pass through the Lower Siddhababa area and vehicles going from Tansen to Butwal from various places to Dobhan Police Post in Bartung. They travel from Butwal to Pokhara, Syangja, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, and Baglung via the Siddhartha Highway.
