Duduwa Rural Municipality of Banke has declared a holiday for all schools in the municipality on Friday due to the forecast of storms.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology issued a warning that there is a possibility of strong winds and rain from Friday to Saturday morning, and the holiday was declared keeping in mind the safety of children, said the head of the rural municipality, Narendra Chaudhary. Duduwa Rural Municipality has issued a notice requesting everyone to be aware of the possibility of strong winds and rain due to the changing weather.

The Disaster Management Committee, Banke, has also issued a high alert to ensure the safety of the general public and has requested everyone to be aware.

Similarly, Kohalpur Municipality has also issued a notice urging everyone to take precautions. Municipal Police Chief Bir Bahadur Thapa has urged all residents not to sit under weak structures, tall trees, telephone and electricity poles and wires during storms, not to touch downed electricity wires, not to use electrical appliances, and not to stay in risky places.
