Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya has said that the provincial government is making plans to strengthen the local economy by prioritizing religious, cultural and sports tourism.

Inaugurating a program organized in Devikot on Friday on the occasion of the ninth establishment day of Rapti Rural Municipality, Chief Minister Acharya said that along with infrastructure development, social development has also been given priority to promote religious, cultural and sports tourism.

He mentioned the religious and historical importance of the Devikot area and said that the provincial government would focus on developing the necessary infrastructure to increase tourist traffic here. ‘This place is very glorious. This place is based on the Swasthani Vrat Katha. Tourist traffic can be increased here,’ he said. ‘The provincial government is working on a multi-year plan to make the road leading to here always operable. Special attention will also be paid to the renovation and preservation of the temple.’

Rapti Rural Municipality Chairman Prakash Bista said that service delivery would be made more effective by changing the working style. At the program, former Lumbini Province Minister and Provincial Assembly member Indrajit Tharu said that basic development infrastructure has been expanded in remote settlements after the formation of the provincial government.
