The District Monitoring Committee has monitored the market and industry to prevent an artificial shortage of cooking gas in West Nawalparasi.
In a monitoring conducted by the District Administration Office, the Cottage and Small Industries Office and other stakeholders in the district headquarters, Parasi, it has been found that consumers are demanding more gas than required and are carrying multiple cylinders at a time out of fear of shortage.
The administration has instructed gas vendors to keep details of consumers carrying gas and request that each family carry only one cylinder at a time.
The monitoring committee also monitored the Aarti and Chandeshwari gas industries in the district along with the depot. During the monitoring, Mohan Pandey, head of the Cottage and Small Industries Office, Parasi, said that gas is being supplied regularly to the depot and industry.
‘We did not find any problems in the supply of gas to the depot and industry during the monitoring,’ he said, ‘It has been found that there is a high demand from the consumer level to keep stock. We urge consumers not to purchase more cylinders than they need.'
