Treatment for heart disease has started at the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences in Ghorahi. Physician and cardiologist Dr. Dinesh Upreti has started treatment for heart disease. Until now, heart disease treatment had not been available in the district.
Dr. Upreti said that now heart disease treatment can be conducted effectively as the catheter lab machine has also been installed. He informed that the institute has also started a separate OPD for heart disease treatment. He said that during the treatment, a 59-year-old man from Rolpa underwent surgery to remove water accumulated around the heart.
A team led by Dr. Upreti, including Dr. Bibesh Mandal, Anesthesia Bikam Pokharel, Cardiovascular Technologist Rajan Kumar Sharma, Radiographer Indu Pokharel, and Nurse Binita Shrestha, performed surgery to remove the water using a wire method. The institute has informed that the patient's condition is normal and he has been discharged.
