Congress Rupandehi Vice President Thaneshwor Ghimire has resigned from his post, citing defeat in all five constituencies.

Out of the five constituencies, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has won in four constituencies. The RSS is also on the verge of victory in constituency no. 1. Considering the election situation in which success was not achieved in all constituencies, he has said that he has resigned from the post of Congress Vice President, taking moral responsibility for the results.

In his resignation letter addressed to the party president, he has urged him to accept his resignation, stating that he will continue to work to strengthen the organization by remaining committed to the party's principles, policies and programs in the coming days as an active member of the party.

The Nepali Congress party president in Rupandehi is Ramkrishna Khand. Khand is also the mayor of Tilottama Municipality. President Khand said that he has heard rumors of resignation, but has not received any official information. He said that a meeting will be held to review the party's defeat in all constituencies.
