Nearly 66 percent of the votes have been cast in Rupandehi. According to Chief Election Officer Ashok Kumar Basnet, 65.86 percent of the votes have been cast in all five constituencies. Out of 672,523 voters, 442,963 people voted in Rupandehi.
97,211 people voted in Constituency No. 1, 86,715 in Constituency No. 2, 97,387 in Constituency No. 3, 76,812 in Constituency No. 4 and 84,838 in Constituency No. 5, said Chief Superintendent of Police Janak Bahadur Shah of the District Police Office. According to him, 232,117 women and 210,843 men voted in Rupandehi.
Chief Election Officer Basnet also said that ballot boxes have been collected from all polling stations and preparations are being made to start counting votes in all the election offices from Thursday night. Voting was held through 736 polling stations in Rupandehi.
