”Arghakhanchi can be made a tourist hub,” said Ram Bahadur Chauhan, a candidate of the Nepal Communist Party for the House of Representatives. ”As the birthplace of sages Panini and Patanjali is in the district, Arghakhanchi is also a holy land, a land of meditation, and a land of knowledge.”

Nepali Communist Party (NCP) candidate Ram Bahadur Chauhan has said that voters have the basis to create self-employment for hundreds of youth through tourism enterprises. He said that pilgrims who come to the Supadeurali Temple, a religious tourist destination in Arghakhanchi, which has great potential for tourism, can be taken to all tourist places in the district, including Khanchikot, Balkot, Arghakot.
He said that tourists who come to visit the temple can be diverted there by building religious and adventure tourism structures in the Supadeurali-Narapani area and taken to other destinations in the district, including the district headquarters, Sandhikharka.
‘After visiting Supadeurali, most pilgrims return. There is a tourist swing bridge there, some have forgotten, and I will build many other structures,’ Chauhan said, ‘After building the necessary structures, starting from the bathroom in Supa Khela, tourists forget and settle down. I will work to divert tourists and settle them down.’
After the tourists settle, resorts, hotels and homestays will be operated in high places such as Narpani and Khanchikot, he said. Chauhan said that they will work to create an environment in which tourists will be served locally produced food and snacks, and for that, they will open farms for raising vegetables, grains, greens, and livestock such as chickens, goats, pigs, and cows for meat.
He said that the government will take the initiative to build tourist infrastructure by investing in resorts and tourist attractions in tourist spots across the district.
‘Arghakhanchi can be made a tourist hub,’ he said, ‘Since the birthplace of sages Panini and Patanjali is in the district, Arghakhanchi is also a holy land, a place of meditation, and a place of knowledge. Road networks and infrastructure should be built in these places.’ He said that since the district is connected to the Terai, tourists coming to Lumbini can also be brought to the hills.
‘Saljhandi-Sandhikharka-Dhorpatan is a tourist road. It is under construction. I will complete it and operate regular vehicles,’ said candidate Chauhan, who is also a central member of the NCP. ‘When foreign tourists travel along this road for the Dhorpatan hunting reserve, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Palpa and Baglung can become additional tourist areas. I will plan and bring in the budget in a way that will create employment opportunities for hundreds of youth through tourism enterprises.’
He said that many places like Sengleng Lake in Dhanchaur, Rock Garden in Divarna, Panini Tapobhoomi, Khidim Cave, Narsinghsthan, Lauri Lake are beautiful from a natural point of view and that they will work with the necessary infrastructure there to allow tourists to enjoy nature. He said that he has a plan to create an environment for tourists to visit places such as Panini Tapobhoomi, the birthplace of Sanskrit grammar, Mathura, the birthplace of Jung Bahadur Rana, Balkot, Malarani, Lake of Gokung, Nrisinghasthan of Bamruk, Damaru Dal of Thada, and other places.
‘I have a roadmap to make Arghakhanchi a tourist destination, I will give this work first priority after being elected,’ he said, ‘My goal is to stop the youth who are going to foreign employment and who have returned after the influx of tourists in the village and create self-employment through agriculture, animal husbandry, spice farming, and other farm and resort work.’
