Election preparations in final stages in Rupandehi

Preparations for the upcoming election on Falgun 21 in Rupandehi have reached the final stage. Rupandehi Chief Election Officer Ashok Kumar Basnet said that all the staff, security personnel, election materials and voting materials required for the election are ready. 

‘Election materials have been delivered to the polling stations. Now only the work of delivering the voting materials remains,’ Basnet said, ‘Election preparations in Rupandehi are in the final stage.’ Coordination is being done with the locals to ensure that the election staff are working at the polling stations. 

According to him, more than 4,400 staff have been deployed in Rupandehi for the election. Apart from the security personnel deployed at the polling stations, a joint team of the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police will conduct security patrols as needed. Additional security force personnel have also arrived for Rupandehi. 

He claimed that the voter education program and the implementation of the election code of conduct have been made effective. He said that as soon as information about the violation of the election code of conduct is received, they will immediately reach the spot and resolve it. 

Rupandehi Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer and Fund Account Controller Bishnu Prasad Khanal informed that only 46 candidates have opened bank accounts in Rupandehi, where there are 155 candidates. 

According to him, out of 123 candidates in Rupandehi who have taken recommendations from the election office to open bank accounts for the purpose of the election, only 46 have opened them so far. ‘All candidates have been informed through letters and phone calls to open separate bank accounts for the purpose of the election and have also been made aware of this,’ Khanal said, ‘So far, no complaint of violation of financial discipline has been received in Rupandehi.’
