A male leopard that had killed a human was found dead on Thursday.

Ram Gopal Chaudhary, Senior Forest Officer of the Division Forest Office, Bardiya, said that the leopard was found dead in the Perhawa Community Forest in Barbardiya Municipality-10.

The Division Forest Office and the National Trust for Nature Conservation had set up a cage to contain the leopard. It is not yet known how the leopard died.

The Division Forest Office, Bardiya, has reported that eight people have died in leopard attacks since Shrawan. According to the office, six people have died in leopard attacks in Barbardiya alone during the same period. More than a dozen have been injured. Two people have been killed by elephants and tigers in the current fiscal year.
