School refuses to make teachers transferred by city attend

What you should know

A teacher from Rolpa who was transferred by the decision of the Rolpa Municipality executive meeting has not been made present by another school for two months.

Gaja Bahadur Pun, a permanent primary school teacher working at Bageshwori Primary School in Jankot, Rolpa Municipality-8, was transferred to the Child Welfare Secondary School in Ward No. 2 of the municipality by the municipality's meeting held on Poush 2.

The municipality's executive meeting had issued a directive letter with a decision to send him from the school he was working at to another school. But after the Child Welfare Secondary School in the district headquarters did not make him present, the teacher is in a state of limbo. 'Even when I went with a letter from the school I was working at to work at the Child Welfare Secondary School, the Child Welfare did not make him present. It has been more than two months. I am left stranded,' complained the victim teacher Pun.

According to teacher Pun, the reason for sending him to another school from the school he was working at is unknown. 'Why are they trying to remove me from that school? Why did the school he was sent to not make him attend? I don't understand," said Pun, a teacher who is also the former principal of the school. He also expressed his grief that he used to go to Child Welfare to attend daily and that the management committee and principal had asked him to attend.

He said that he was further victimized by the failure to implement the decision made by the municipality. He complained that he was transferred from the school where he was already the principal without sufficient reason and that the school concerned had insulted him by not making him attend. The school where Pun worked, however, stated that teacher Pun was given a letter of reprimand as per the municipality's instructions. Karna Pun, the city's education chief, responded that teachers should not be allowed to go against the municipality's decision.

Jit Bahadur Dangi, the chairman of the management committee of Child Welfare Secondary School, said that it was difficult to make teacher Pun attend based on the municipality's decision after the municipality transferred him to a pressure-based job. Rolpa Municipality Mayor Surendra Gharti Magar expressed his regret over the non-implementation of the municipality's decision. Pointing to the school concerned, he said, 'Any school has to implement the decision made by the city education department. Otherwise, another decision has to be made. Why didn't the school let us go by not attending?' he asked.
