Nepali Congress candidate for Rupandehi Constituency No. 2, Chunna Prasad Poudel, has made public his commitments, from declaring the International Bus Park and Old Batauli as a heritage zone in Butwal to making education free from grades 1 to 12 in Butwal. He has also made his commitment to creating employment for at least 5,000 people to making policy reforms in the transparent tax system.

Poudel, who is also an industrialist and businessman, has made public his commitment letter covering 37 points in various areas. His commitments include expanding the Butwal Industrial Zone and expediting the operation of the Motipur Industrial Zone, converting BTI into an engineering college, operating an auto engineering college in Butwal Auto Village to produce technical manpower and mobilizing that manpower in the industries of Butwal itself.

Minimum wage for all workers working in the formal and informal sectors, affiliation to the social security fund, making youth employable by introducing digital technology, installing digital free Wi-Fi and CCTV cameras at every intersection under the Safe Zone Campaign, protecting and promoting the industry, trade and commercial sectors for the economic growth and progress of the nation, creating a proper business environment through policy reforms of a reliable legal system and a transparent tax system to increase investment; removing the high-tension lines that have put Butwal's settlements at risk, the commitment mentions.

Establishing Lumbani Provincial Hospital as the Academy of Health Sciences and Siddhartha Children and Women's Hospital as a medical college, providing land ownership through policy management to solve the land-related problems of unorganized and landless citizens, and further empowering Jhumsa Drinking Water, Hillpark Drinking Water Project and Tilottama and Sainamaina Drinking Water and Sanitation Organizations to solve Butwal's drinking water problem and managing pure drinking water are among the issues mentioned in the commitment.

Prajapal Giri, coordinator of the Paude election mobilization committee, said that the commitment letter includes plans and programs that can be fulfilled rather than just making promises. ‘The commitments we have made public are those that can be easily fulfilled with a little effort,’ he said, ‘which are also much-awaited by the residents of Butwal and this region.’

The commitment letter also mentions that the agricultural sector will be given special priority by establishing an agricultural and livestock business center, determining agricultural crop pocket areas, agricultural subsidies, simple agricultural loans, agricultural product sales centers, equipment, seeds, fertilizers and medicines, and agricultural and livestock insurance. The commitment letter also mentions topics ranging from management of the banks of the Tinau and Danab rivers, control of stray animals on the roads to waste management.
