Four people have been arrested on charges of being involved in the transaction of fake Rs 1,000 notes. Police had arrested Sattu Yadav of Buddhabhumi Municipality-6, Karnauliya on February 1.
99 fake notes of Rs 1,000 were recovered from Yadav. District Police Spokesperson DSP Ripendra Kumar Singh said that two more notes of Rs 101,000 that he had transacted at two places were recovered.
During the investigation, Ajay Yadav of Buddhabhumi-6, Karnauliya, Pateshwori Prasad Gupta of Kapilvastu-7, Kacharihawa and Sajida Khatun were arrested on charges of involvement in the transaction, the police said. All four were remanded in custody for 8 days by the District Court for currency offences under Chapter 22 of the Criminal Code of Nepal 2074 BS.
