The award, established in the name of Meena Kumari Karki, the first female teacher at Kisan Mavi in Palpa, has a sum of Rs 50,000 and a certificate. She said that the Meena Didi Award, which is given to those who have made significant contributions to social transformation from the education sector across the country, will be presented every year.

This award was established by Meena's daughters, Professor Dr. Aarti Karki and writer Neelam. Meena, who taught at Kisan Mavi in Palpa Jhadeva, passed away on Magh 21, 2078.
