District Election Officer Mahesh Sharma said that only six candidates have received recommendations to open bank accounts for the House of Representatives elections.
So far, Congress candidate Sandeep Rana from Palpa Constituency No. 1, Nepali Communist Party's Hum Bahadur Sunari and National Republic Nepal's Thaman Singh Reshmi Magar have received recommendations to open accounts.
From Constituency 2, Madhav Bahadur Thapa from the National Independent Party, Dev Prasad Shrestha from National Republic Nepal and independent candidate Mohan Kunwar Thapa Magar have received recommendations.
According to the election code of conduct, candidates must make their election expenses and contributions only through the banking system. According to Surya Prasad Aryal, Chief Treasurer of the Treasury and Accounts Control Office, contributions and expenses exceeding Rs 25,000 must be made through the bank. He said that even if cash transactions of less than that are made, receipts must be submitted.
