Naturalized citizenship has been granted for the first time by the District Administration Office, Gulmi.

Earlier, there was a system where the district administration recommended and provided citizenship from the Ministry of Home Affairs, but it was cumbersome and not possible to obtain citizenship on time.

Currently, the authority related to naturalized citizenship has been provided to the Chief District Officer. Accordingly, this citizenship has been provided for the first time in Gulmi.

Jamuna Basnet, who has a permanent address in Gulmi Resunga Municipality-10, has married a foreign national. Accordingly, her son Suraj Lepcha has been granted naturalized citizenship.

Suraj Lepcha, the son of the couple Gilbert Lepcha and Jamuna Basnet, was stateless. He has obtained citizenship after this system. Suraj is 20 years old. Suraj's father is Indian. The mother and son who reached the District Administration Office after receiving naturalized citizenship were happy.

Chief District Officer Badrinath Gairhe said that naturalized citizenship was provided for the first time by the Gulmi administration. He said that since there is a legal system in the district, citizenship will be provided easily.
