A team deployed from the Area Police Office, Mainapokhar, said that they arrested a pedestrian coming from India through the border checkpoint at Ranipur in Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-2 after finding the substance.
Information Officer and DSP of the District Police Office, Bardiya, Devendra Bahadur Malla, said that the suspect, Kaliram Tharu, 27, of Basgadhi Municipality-4 Materia, was found to have 340 mg of a brownish-colored substance resembling brown sugar during the arrest.
Kaliram Tharu has been taken into custody and taken to the Area Police Office, Mainapokhar, where investigation is underway, DSP Malla said.
