An army team has defused a cooker bomb found on Saturday outside the irrigation office in the district headquarters, Gulariya.

The locals had informed the police after finding a bomb in the field north of the office. The bomb disposal team of the Bajradal Battalion in Gularia Tulapur defused the bomb.

There was an army camp at the irrigation office during the armed conflict. The army has stated that the initial investigation has shown that the bomb may have been from the armed conflict.

The army is currently continuing the search around the incident site. Information Officer and DSP Devendra Kumar Malla of the District Police Office Bardiya said that security arrangements have also been tightened.
