The Lumbini Provincial Government has declared a public holiday across the province on Wednesday (today) on the occasion of the Province Establishment Day.
The provincial government has been giving one day out of the six holidays given throughout the year on the occasion of the establishment of the province. According to a public notice in the provincial gazette on Chaitra 21, 2081, Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Lok Bahadur Sunar, said that it has been decided to give a public holiday throughout Lumbini province on the occasion of the establishment of the province.
According to him, the provincial government has been giving six holidays annually. Out of these, Magh 2 is Maghi, Magh 9 is Shree Panchami, and Magh 21 is Province Establishment Day.
Similarly, Rolpa, Dang, Rukum East, and Pyuthan districts have one day off for Bhumya Puja. Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, and Nawalparasi West have one day off for the Atwari festival. Similarly, Palpa has been giving one day off on the occasion of Bhagwati Jatra.
