Inaugurating the main ceremony, Province Chief Krishna Bahadur Gharti Magar said that all parties should be responsible for the sustainable development and prosperity of the province. ‘This province is sensitive . It is also good . It is up to those who govern to decide how to make it,’ he said, ‘We have to run Lumbini Province differently . We also have competition with others . If we can work well, it can become a very good province .’

Stating that the province should listen to the voices of all parties and levels, he recalled that places developed based on the decisions of those who governed during the period of history .

Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya said that as the province completed eight years of its establishment, the work of strengthening federalism was done by the province. He said that due to federalism, development has reached the people’s homes and courtyards and the people have been able to experience it . ‘Today, the province was established due to federalism . The citizens have been able to experience the work done by the province,' he said, 'I request those who say that nothing happened today, that the province has become a burden to evaluate it by looking at the details of the expenses incurred in the province.'

He clarified that the province is not a burden but is being established as a basis for development. In addition, Chief Minister Acharya informed that the provincial government has prepared and implemented a five-year strategic plan for good governance, transparency, accountability and ending corruption. 'Now the issue of good governance and transparency has been raised more.' The provincial government has already prepared a legal basis and worked in this area,' he said, 'We have been able to efficiently carry out the work and responsibilities of the province.'

Provincial Speaker Tularam Gharti Magar said that the provincial assembly and the provincial government are strengthening the aspect of making laws in areas related to the basic needs of the people and implementing them in a way that is felt. He also said that the province has been successful in bringing it to this stage by making laws and regulations. ‘Lumbini Province is at the forefront compared to other provinces in lawmaking. It is also moving forward in the implementation level,’ he said, ‘Now we are increasing our role in making laws that are connected to the people.’

Former Chief Minister Jokh Bahadur Mahara said that good governance is necessary for the development of the province. He said that the development of infrastructure and human labor force is essential to make Lumbini a prosperous and self-reliant province. ‘It is necessary to plan for Lumbini by focusing on agriculture and tourism,’ he said, ‘Good governance is needed to advance the work of prosperity.’ The province needs to speed up its work in that direction.’
