Shakti Group, a group working for the protection and advocacy of women, girls and adolescents affected by human trafficking, has purchased and put into operation its own shelter home building in Banke.

The Shakti Group building in Karkado, Banke was inaugurated on Sunday. Banke Chief District Officer Dil Bahadur Tamang and Deputy Chief of the District Coordination Committee Sita Karki jointly inaugurated the building.

The program, chaired by Shakti Group's founding member and outgoing chairperson Charimaya Tamang, was attended by Shivraj Poudel, Assistant Attorney General of the District Attorney's Office, Deepak Patali, DSP of the District Police Office, Banke, Darika Adhikari of the National Human Rights Commission, human rights activist Basanta Gautam, and representatives of various organizations active in the rescue, control and prevention of human trafficking.
