Husband and brother-in-law arrested for murdering young woman in Pyuthan

According to the District Police Office, Pyuthan, Sharmila Gharti's husband Anil Gharti and brother-in-law Janak Gharti have been arrested and an investigation has been launched on charges of involvement in her murder.

Husband and brother-in-law arrested for murdering young woman in Pyuthan

Police have arrested the husband and brother-in-law of Sharmila Gharti of Gaumukhi Rural Municipality-6, Libang, on charges of involvement in the murder.

According to Narahari Adhikari, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Pyuthan, 19-year-old Sharmila Gharti's husband, 20-year-old Anil Gharti, and his brother-in-law, Janak Gharti, 18, have been arrested and an investigation has been launched on charges of involvement in the murder of 19-year-old Sharmila Gharti.

The District Police Office, Pyuthan, has stated that preliminary investigations have revealed that Sharmila was taken to Gondrechaur, 600 meters away from her home, on the pretext of going for a walk, on Magh 16 at 8 pm.

An argument broke out between husband Anil and Sharmila, and after Anil fell unconscious after hitting a railing at that place, the two brothers together threw her off the Kalimati cliff near the railing and killed her, the police have stated.

Anil Gharti said that Sharmila was having an affair with a stranger and that there was an argument over the same matter.

The police have stated that this was revealed during the preliminary investigation.
