The National People's Liberation Party has issued a manifesto with the goal of creating a direct executive Prime Minister.
Janmukti has also expressed its commitment to make the country corruption-free within 5 years.
The party released its manifesto for the House of Representatives elections in Butwal on Friday with the core belief of ‘With everyone, development for all’. Party General Secretary Top Aslami said that Nepal is a pluralistic society and that a cluster-based president is more appropriate than a system where a single person is the president at the central level.
‘Whoever will be elected by the parliament,’ he said, ‘The executive prime minister will be directly elected, and the cabinet can be formed by parliament and non-parliament.’
Similarly, he said that direct election of the chief minister at the provincial level would be appropriate and that his party agrees and is committed to it.
The Rastriya Janmukti Party has also stated that the constitution is flawed and cannot address national aspirations. Janmukti has suggested that a powerful state restructuring commission should be formed for reforms and that the federal model should be adopted only according to its recommendations. Similarly, the manifesto also mentions running a national campaign against corruption and making the country corruption-free within 5 years, developing industries based on Nepal's own raw materials and industrializing the country, discouraging the policy of taking foreign loans, and considering domestic and foreign options for employment equally.
Party President Keshav Suryavanshi said that the National People's Liberation Party has fielded 17 candidates directly from across the country in the election fray. Of these, only 10 are in Lumbini Province. 'Wherever our candidate is not available, we have made a policy of looking for good candidates and supporting them,' he said, 'Our party has accepted federalism, but has been recognizing that its amendment is necessary.'
