A person was seriously injured in a leopard attack in Barbardiya Municipality-11 on Thursday afternoon.

The Division Forest Office, Bardiya, has reported that a leopard attacked a person while he was cutting grass in the Janmukti Community Forest at around 2 pm.

Ramgopal Chaudhary, Senior Forest Officer of the Division Forest Office, said that Prem Bahadur Gharti Magar of the same place was injured in the leopard attack. The injured Gharti Magar has been taken to Nepalgunj for treatment. 

In the current fiscal year, 6 people have died here due to leopard attacks. During this period, 1 person each has died due to tiger and elephant attacks. Since Shrawan, 11 people have been injured in wild animal attacks.
