More than 1,200 people have received free treatment at a four-day camp for heart, joint, and nerve problems, coordinated by District Hospital Bardiya, with financial support from Nepal Orthopedic Hospital Kathmandu and MSD Foundation Switzerland.
Dr. Prakash Gyawali, Senior Surgeon and Deputy Director of Nepal Orthopedic Hospital, said that free treatment was provided to those with broken bones, damaged limbs, splints that could not be removed, and old fractures and deformities.
He said that 70 people who came for treatment underwent surgery. He said that 4 people with bone-related problems who could not be treated here will be treated free of charge in Kathmandu for transplantation.
