A candidate from the Congress-UML alliance has been elected as a member of the National Assembly from Lumbini Province.

Ram Kumari Jhankri of Madane Rural Municipality-4, Gulmi has been elected from the women's quota from UML with 6303 votes. Jhankri is a former urban development minister. Jhankri, who was established in politics through the student movement, is also the former central president of the Nepali National Federation of Students Unions (ANFSWU).

From the Congress, Basudev Ghimire of Dang was elected from the disabled quota from Lamahi Municipality-3, and Chandra Bahadur KC of Gulmi was elected from the other quota from Resunga Municipality-3 with 6322 votes, said Election Officer Prakash Prasad Pandit. They are old leaders of the Congress. 

Congress and UML had coordinated to register their candidacies. UML had the women's quota, while Congress had the disabled and other groups.

286 votes were cast in the election. In which 78 people (48 men and 30 women) voted for the Provincial Assembly members and 208 people (123 men and 85 women) voted for the local level. 5 people (5 men and 8 women) voted for the Provincial Assembly members and 8 people (8 people) voted for the local level.

Lumbini Province has 87 Provincial Assembly members and 305 voters (218 mayors and deputy mayors) of 109 local levels, of which 299 are currently voters. The number of voters has decreased as 4 Provincial Assembly members and 1 municipal mayor resigned to become candidates for the House of Representatives elections and one municipal mayor is vacant.

Eight candidates from Lumbini Province were competing for three National Assembly members. There were three candidates from the Congress-UML alliance, three from the Nepali Communist Party and two from the Rastriya Janamorcha.

From the Nepali Communist Party, Barangdi Rural Municipality-1, Durga Kumari Bhandari of Palpa, Baijanath Rural Municipality-5, Banke, Sarjan BK and others from Bardaghat Municipality-14, Brihaspati Adhikari of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) were candidates in the women's quota.

From the National Janamorcha, there were candidates in the women's and other quotas. Among the women, Padma Pandit of Pyuthan and Mallarani Rural Municipality-2, Bom Bahadur Khatri of Pyuthan were candidates in the women's quota.

Gopal Bhattarai, National Assembly Vice President Bimala Ghimire and the term of the then Maoist Center Jag Prasad Sharma ends on Falgun 20. Bhattarai, others, Ghimire and Sharma were members from the women's quota.
