Pandey and Yadav to contest elections from UML in Nawalparasi West

The UML has finalized the candidates for both constituencies of West Nawalparasi for the House of Representatives elections.

Along with UML, the Nepali Communist Party and the RPP have also finalized their candidates. As the parties are rapidly finalizing their candidates, the election atmosphere in the district is heating up. 

UML has nominated Ram Prasad Pandey in Constituency No. 1 and Bhagauti Prasad Yadav (Rudal) in Constituency No. 2 . Pandey is the former chairman of Susta Rural Municipality. Yadav is the head of the District Coordination Committee . Yadav will have to resign from the Coordination Committee to nominate his candidacy. 

A group of the party is unhappy after former Lumbini Province Minister Baijnath Chaudhary did not get a ticket from UML despite being recommended by the district. Chairman Oli was not happy with Chaudhary after he was nominated as the deputy general secretary candidate from the Ishwor Pokharel group at the UML general convention. Due to which he was deprived of his candidacy, according to the leaders of the Pokharel group. 

RPP has decided to nominate party vice-chairman Dhubra Bahadur Pradhan in West Nawalparasi-2  Pradhan had won the last election for the House of Representatives from this constituency. The Nepali Communist Party has fielded Devendra Poudel as its candidate in West Nawalparasi-2. The candidate for Constituency No. 1 has not yet been decided. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has not finalized its candidate. The Congress has not yet decided on its candidate as of Sunday.
