Two people have died after an EV coming from Orali towards Dhodhari and a motorcycle going in the opposite direction collided on a road section in Madhuban Municipality-4.

Police said that the EV vehicle (Ba Pra 01-032Ch 7553) and the motorcycle (Bhe 11 Pa 1923) going in the opposite direction collided at around 9 pm on Friday.

The motorcycle driver, Sushil Kumar Tharu, 21, of Shahipur, Thakurbaba-5, Bardiya, and Karan Tharu, 25, of Manpur, Manpur, who was sitting behind him, were injured. 

They were immediately taken to the District Hospital Gulariya for treatment, but both died at 10:10 pm, said Mahendra Sen, Police Inspector of the Area Police Office, Dhodhari.

The police have taken the driver of the EV vehicle, Bikram Bohora, 23, of Madhuban Municipality-4, Dhodhari, into custody. Police Inspector Sen said that both vehicles were not in a driving condition. According to Sandeep Belbase, Chief Police Inspector of the District Traffic Police Office, Bardiya, it has been revealed that the EV driver, Bohora, was driving under the influence of alcohol.
