Pariyar of Tharke Village Municipality-3, Dhading died on the spot in an accident while going from Palpa to Gulmi. The tipper (Na 8 Kha 365) met with an accident on the Tansen-Ridi-Tamghas road section, informed Hom Prakash Chaudhary, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Palpa.
The tipper, which was carrying more than its capacity, fell about 200 meters from the road. The police said that further investigation is underway into the incident. High-speed tippers plying on Palpa roads have been killing their drivers.
Tippers running in limestone mines as well as tippers carrying clinker and cement from CG companies are running at high speed, not showing side lights, overtaking recklessly, and accidents are caused due to negligence due to lack of traffic checks, said civil society leader Chitrawali Ram Suwal. According to him, when tippers are not checked by traffic, they are operated carelessly and accidents have increased.
Meanwhile, a driver has been seriously injured in a tipper accident in Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-7, Rahas Okhari Gouda Tole, Palpa. The driver of the tipper (G 1 Ka 6224) carrying a load of chundhunga from the chundhunga mine to Sarvottam Cement Nawalparasi was injured in the accident. Local residents have reported that the tipper, which was carrying a load exceeding its capacity, suddenly backed up and could not pull the load on the hill.
