Six people are being investigated by the court on Monday after being remanded for five days in custody in a case that prohibits gambling or betting as per Section 125 of Chapter 5 of the Criminal Code 2074 BS.
Six people have been arrested while gambling at Royal City Cottage and Restaurant in Bhavpur, Banganga Municipality-10.
A police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Pipara raided and took them under control. Those arrested are Dilip Thapa, 35, of Pipri Chapa, Kanchan Rural Municipality-5, Rupandehi, Kamal Thapa, 32, of Bhaisahi, Bhaisahi, Dipendra Ghartimagar, 33, of Gaudi, Banganga Municipality-10, Arjun Chaudhary, 35, of Bankatti, Banganga Municipality-3, Umesh Pokharel, 33, of Bhaktauli, Banganga Municipality-3, and Dinesh Tharu, 35, of Bhavpur, a restaurant owner.
Police recovered Rs 256,290 along with six mobile phones and three decks of cards from those playing cards, said District Police Spokesperson DSP Ripendra Kumar Singh.
The six people were remanded in custody by the court on Monday for five days in a case under Section 125 of Chapter 5 of the Criminal Code 2074 BS.
