Ramtulsi Secondary School in Bejhad, Rampur Municipality-5, which has the largest number of students in the district, has been awarded the International Quality Mark.
The logo of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was handed over to the school on Monday for overall educational and physical quality improvement.
ISO Nepal Representative Sudeep Sharma presented the ISO logo for international quality to the school's principal Balkrishna Lamsal, School Management Committee Chairman Ashok Shrestha, and Lumbini Provincial Assembly member Raju Shrestha.
Students, parents, teachers, principals of neighboring schools, and School Management Committee Chairman were present at the program. Principal Lamsal and Chairman Shrestha have pledged to meet all the indicators within a year. Lumbini Provincial Assembly member Shrestha pledged to provide necessary support on behalf of the provincial government.
International quality has emphasized administrative reforms, improvement of the academic quality of the classroom, and participation of parents in improving the quality of student education, said ISO Nepal Representative Sharma.
Principal Lamsal said that the school is moving forward towards continuous improvement, transparency, and quality education. There are 2,772 students in Ramtulsi Model Secondary School. Shrestha, the chairman of the management committee, said that it is now successful because the teachers, staff, management committee and parents have made efforts to improve the educational and physical standards of the school. The school has stated that the number of students is increasing at a rate of 150 per year in Ramtulsi. The school offers three-year agricultural crop science, and science, management, and education subjects in grades 11 and 12.
Parent Chiranjivi Sigdel said that the attraction of students has also increased due to the adoption of timely teaching and learning and the management of the educational environment. To improve the quality of education, the school has selected skilled manpower and created an environment for students to study after they reach the school, said student Karina Karki. More than 100 teachers and staff are working in the school.
A state-of-the-art computer lab has been prepared with the assistance of Rs 3.2 million allocated under the Vocational Education Enhancement Project in the last fiscal year.
Information Technology teacher Chandra Prakash Bhattarai said that it can be used by 30 students at a time. According to him, computer classes have been conducted from grades 8 to 12. A well-organized library and a well-equipped dormitory with a capacity of 300 people have been managed.
Established in 2025 BS, this school is known as the Old High School in the eastern part of Palpa. This school has adequate playgrounds, well-equipped toilets, drinking water, laboratories, libraries and other facilities.
