One person was killed and two others injured in a collision between two motorcycles in Kumrang, Rampur Municipality-8, Palpa on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Dol Bahadur Kumal, 50, of Piltar, Rampur Municipality-8, police said. The motorcycle (Lu 20 Pa 5897) heading towards Bhujat from Rampur and the motorcycle (Lu 68 Pa 8800) coming from the opposite direction collided.

The driver of Lu 68 Pa 8800, Dol Bahadur Kumal, the driver of Lu 20 Pa 5897, Karan Shrestha, 21, of Dharapani, Rampur Municipality-8, and the rider on the back of the motorcycle, Girman Shrestha, 23, of the same place, were injured in the accident, said Chief Police Inspector Lal Bahadur Sunar of the Area Police Office, Rampur.

The injured in the accident were brought to Rampur Hospital for treatment. The seriously injured Dol Bahadur Kumal died at Rampur Hospital during treatment. Among the injured, Karan's condition is critical while Girman's condition is moderate, according to the police. They have been referred to Lumbini Medical College Prabhas for further treatment. The police said that the accident occurred while the motorcycle bearing Lu 68 Pa 8800 was overtaking an unregistered car in front. The police said that further investigation into the accident is underway.
