A bird census will be conducted in Bardiya from Monday. The census will be conducted in places where birds are seen, including Badhaiyatal, Bardiya National Park, buffer zone, community forest, and others.

A meeting chaired by Ashok Kumar Ram, Senior Conservation Officer of Bardiya National Park, on Saturday morning decided to conduct a bird census in the district, Conservation Officer and Information Officer Sarojmani Poudel said. He said that 30 conservation workers will be deployed for the census. 

The bird census will be conducted for two days with the support of the National Nature Conservation Fund, Hotel Guide Association, Nature Guide and Bardiya National Park.

Last year, 535 birds of various species were counted in Bardiya, said Ram Bahadur Shahi, President of the Nepal Bird Experts Association and Banke, Bardiya coordinator of the water bird census.
