Two acts each passed by the municipal assemblies of Tansen and Rampur

The winter municipal assemblies have concluded with the passage of two acts each in Tansen and Rampur municipalities. The first meeting of the 18th municipal assembly of Tansen Municipality was held on Thursday.

In the meeting, Maheshwor Shrestha, a member of the Municipal Assembly and Ward Chairman of Tansen Municipality-2, presented the ‘Bill to make provisions regarding the financial procedures and financial responsibility of Tansen Municipality’.

Hemanta Raj Shakya, a member of the Municipal Assembly and Ward Chairman of Ward-4, presented the ‘Advertisement Tax Management and Regulation Bill, 2082’. In the meeting, Deputy Mayor Pratiksha Gaha Sinjali presented the first amendment bill of the Appropriation Act 2082 of the Municipality and the report of the Judicial Committee.

Deputy Mayor Sinjali had presented the revised appropriation of Rs 1.39 billion, out of the municipality’s current appropriation of Rs 1.46 billion, 50 million, 96 thousand, 807, to the Municipal Assembly.

All the bills presented in the meeting were unanimously passed, while Mayor Santosh Lal Shrestha responded to the issues raised in the meeting. During the zero hour of the meeting, only Municipal Assembly member Madhav Basyal raised questions.

The 18th city assembly of Rampur Municipality concluded with the issuance of two acts including budget transfers and title transfers for various schemes. Mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa said that the winter assembly transferred the budget transfers and title transfers for 80 schemes and programs at the ward and city levels.

The plan transfer and title transfer proposal presented by Deputy Mayor Bal Kumari Thapa was unanimously passed.

The Economic Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility Bill 2082 presented by Municipal Assembly member and Bills Committee Coordinator Min Bahadur Sinjali and the Rampur Municipality Tourism Development Bill presented by Bill member Bishnumaya Gaire were unanimously passed.

Mayor Thapa said that the work done by the municipality for the identity of the city along with development is a matter of pride. He said that Rampur Municipality has been carrying out important works including thatch-free houses, youth self-employment, sewer-free city, construction of Kaligandaki pedestrian path, construction of municipal cowshed, and declaration of a bright city.

Deputy Mayor Thapa said that out of the total budget of Rs 811.366 million for the current fiscal year, Rs 25.111 million has been transferred and allocated to 80 ward and municipal level plans and programs.
