Two political parties in Pyuthan have registered a complaint at the District Police Office, Pyuthan, demanding action against those involved in the arson and vandalism that occurred at various places in Pyuthan during the Genji movement and demonstration on Bhadra 23 and 24.

The National Janamorcha and the CPN-UML Pyuthan filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Pyuthan, on Thursday, alleging that the party offices were arson and vandalized during the Genji movement.

The District Police Office, Pyuthan, has stated that the complaint has been filed demanding action against those who arson and vandalized the party offices and demanding action against those who committed dacoity and criminal activities.

According to Narahari Adhikari, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Pyuthan, the two political parties have filed a complaint and various other investigations are underway.

During the Genji movement, the offices of the CPN-UML, the National Janamorcha, the Nepali Congress and the then Maoist Party were vandalized and set on fire in Pyuthan. The vandalism and arson caused damage worth over Rs 7 million in Pyuthan.
