A joint team of the Narcotics Control Bureau and Police Station Mohammadpur deployed from Banke has arrested an Indian citizen with 266 grams and 560 milligrams of brown sugar.
The arrested person is 33-year-old Firoz Khan of village Laukahi under Motipur police station, Uttar Pradesh state, India. According to Information Officer and DSP Devendra Bahadur Malla of the District Police Office, Bardiya, brown sugar was recovered from Khan.
When the police tried to take control of Khan, he resisted and tried to escape, but they fired one round of air fire and another round of bullets in the leg on Wednesday evening, injuring him. The incident took place in Lalpur, Gulariya Municipality-11.
Another person who came with Khan is absconding, according to the police. The injured Khan is being treated at the District Hospital, Gulariya.
