DSP Devendra Kumar Malla, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Bardiya, said that the police opened fire in self-defense after the police tried to attack the police while arresting a drug dealer in Lalpur, Gulariya Municipality-11, via Laukahi, India. 'The police fired one round of air fire in self-defense and one round of bullets in the leg,' he said. 'The injured person is 31-year-old Firoz Khan of Laukahi Bazaar, Bahraich district, India.' The police said that one person who came with him has absconded.
Khan is being treated at Bardiya Hospital, DSP Malla said. A brown powdery substance resembling brown sugar has been found in the injured.
