A pickup van carrying 29 quintals of maize that had evaded customs duties has been seized from the Nepal-India border area in Susta, West Nawalparasi.

DSP Govinda Bahadur KC of Armed Police Force No. 26 Battalion Headquarters said that the Armed Police Force team on patrol seized the goods while they were being transported by evading customs. The pickup vehicle (Lu 3 Cha 3326) used in transporting the maize has also been taken into custody.
The market value of the maize is Rs 300,000 and the value of the van is Rs 1.3 million, according to the Armed Police Force. The seized goods have been handed over to the Maheshpur Customs Office.
After the increase in the number of goods being transported by evading customs from the Dashgaja area, the Armed Police Force has increased patrols at the border and open areas.
