Ganga Secondary School in Rampur has been awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) logo. The school received the ISO mark for meeting at least 25 percent of the 49 indicators of school improvement.

Global Quality Council Nepal representative Sudeep Sharma presented ISO logo certificates to Rampur Municipality Mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa, Deputy Mayor Bal Kumari Thapa, School Management Committee Chairman Hari Bahadur Gyawali, and school principal Devraj Devkota. The ISO representative Sharma said that the certificates are awarded after monitoring, evaluating, and verifying the specified indicators of school improvement before the deadline. 

International standards have emphasized administrative reform, improvement of classroom academic quality, and participation of parents in improving the quality of student education, especially in school management. ‘This logo has been provided ahead of time because there have been changes in students, parents, and teaching staff,’ he said. 

School principal Devkota said that the criteria for student evaluation methods, result analysis, and improvement strategies should be scientific. The school stated that it is in the process of meeting international standards in teaching-learning process, administrative management, educational quality, sanitation, security, and service delivery. The school is moving forward towards continuous improvement, transparency and quality education, said the school's principal Devkota. With this, the path to being declared as a fully ISO certified school has been opened. After receiving the international quality mark, the physical and managerial aspects of the school are expected to be attractive and well-organized. The school has informed that the work of educational and physical improvement has been progressing to meet the 100 percent indicator. 'The ISO liaison office is also in Rampur,' he said, 'it will monitor the daily activities of the school.'

The physical condition of the classrooms, the availability of technology and educational materials should be good, the curriculum implementation, effective teaching and learning technology of the prescribed curriculum will be supported, said the mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa. Stating that receiving the logo is a matter of pride for the school, he said that the municipality will always support quality education.

Deputy mayor Balkumari Thapa said that new standards have been set in the education sector. ‘I am confident that it will give even better results in the coming days,’ she said. School Management Committee Chairman Gyawali said that the ISO logo will further strengthen the educational quality of the school and increase the trust of parents and the community. ‘The school will continue to strive for important achievements that will lead it towards continuous improvement, transparency and quality education,’ he said. 

Kamalraj Bhattarai, Chairman of the Basic Secondary School Management Committee in Rampur, said that it will help in strengthening the relationship between students, parents and teachers to become the best school in the Rampur area. Balkrishna Lamsal, Principal of Ramtulsi Model Secondary School in Rampur, said that after receiving the ISO logo, efforts will be made to improve the quality of the school and help in physical infrastructure. 

Ward Chairman and former Chairman of the School Management Committee Dinesh Acharya said that the school will earn international fame as it improves the educational quality. School teacher Badri Ghimire said that the challenge is to work harder as the school has reached its current state due to everyone’s hard work. Ganga Secondary School offers classes from grades 1 to 12 and has 650 students. Animal Science is offered in grades 11 and 12.
