The National Independent Party has announced that it will field District President Hari Prasad Bhusal as its candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives elections on 21 Falgun.
Bhusal announced his candidacy at a press conference in Sandhikharka on Wednesday. Bhusal, 37, a resident of Bhumikasthan Municipality-3, Dharapani, is a media operator and writer, as well as a business owner in Sandhikharka.
The district party and all municipal leadership unanimously announced the candidate, said Raju Khadka, President of the RSVP Sandhikharka Municipality.
He said that the announcement was made along with the expansion of the organization in the village and election campaign. According to sources, even though many people ran to the center to become candidates in Arghakhanchi, Bhusal was made a candidate from the district.
Bhusal was a candidate for the House of Representatives in 2079 BS. He came third with 3,200 votes. UML's Top Bahadur Rayamajhi won with 42,675 votes. His rival, Congress central member and former deputy speaker Pushpa Bhusal Gautam, received 40,945 votes from the five-party alliance.
In the proportional representation, the National Independent Party came third in Arghakhanchi with 8,951 votes. UML came first and Congress came second.
