A 17-year-old girl died in a tiger attack on Tuesday afternoon. Police said that the tiger attacked Binita Pariyar of Madhuban-2 Kothiyagaun while she was grazing livestock in the Kothiya Community Forest.

Immediately after the incident, the local police searched for the tiger, seriously injuring it and leaving it in the forest, a hundred meters away from the attack site.

Pariyar died during treatment at the District Hospital Gulariya, said Mahendra Sen, Police Inspector of the Area Police Office, Dhodhari.
