Two people have been arrested on charges of defrauding nearly 2.7 million people by promising to earn money through online jobs.

DSP Ganga Bahadur Saru, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Gulmi, informed that 26-year-old Shravan Kumar Patel of Birgunj Sub-metropolitan City-21 of Parsa has been arrested from Kathmandu for defrauding a woman of Dhurkot Rural Municipality-3 of Rs. 26.96 lakh.

The arrested person had defrauded the woman of the amount by offering various temptations saying that she could earn money through online jobs through networking business.

Another accused in the same fraud case, Bishnu Bahadur Rawal, 47, of Kailali Lamkichuha Municipality-6, has already been arrested. DSP Saru said that a search is underway for some others involved in this incident.
