For the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on March 21, the Congress, UML, Nepali Communist Party, and National Independent Party have recommended candidates for the proportional representation system from Palpa district. The Congress has also recommended candidates for the direct representation system, while other parties have recommended only for the proportional representation system.
UML has recommended candidates for the proportional representation women's election for the House of Representatives election: Rainadevi Chhahara-5, Mujhunki Meena GC, Rambha Rural Municipality-4, Humin's Urmila Sharma, Rainadevi Chhahara-3, Bhuwanpokhari's Mira Marasini, Rambha Rural Municipality-1, and Hungi's Kubija Basyal Aryal. Similarly, for the indigenous nationalities, Rampur Municipality-4, Rampur's Durgadevi Rana, Tansen Municipality-3, Tansen's Sushila Shrestha, Purbakhola Rural Municipality-2, and Jalpa's Hirusara Rana have been recommended. For the Dalits, Tansen Municipality-3, Thakur Prasad Lohagun of Tansen, Tansen Municipality-5, Dhungakhani's Aminbox Miya and Rampur Municipality-4, Islampur's Rojiran Khatun have been recommended, UML sources have said.
Nepali Communist Party, Palpa has recommended Parbati BK (Dalit woman), Bishnu Maya Thapa (Janajati woman), Shanta Neupane (Khas Arya woman), Padam Prasad Aryal (Khas Arya man), Mohammad Rafi (Muslim man), Khum Bahadur Kumal (Janajati man) for the upcoming proportional representation election. According to Nepali Communist Party leader Mathura Dhakal, four people have also been recommended for the National Assembly election. Ram Krishna Karki (open), Dal Bahadur Rana (open), Durga Kumari Bhandari (woman) and Shanta Saru (woman) have been recommended for the National Assembly election.
Ramesh Prasad Neupane from the National Independent Party, Arjun Shrestha from the Janajati, and Avita Nepali from the Dalit side, said party vice-president Suman Gaire. Neupane and Shrestha are former UML members, while Nepali has not been open to any party. Congress Palpa has recommended the name of Krishna Raj Adhikari from Constituency No. 1 for proportional representation. It has decided to recommend former Congress District President Rajan Pant, District Secretary Sunita Adhikari, Muslim leader Jamila Miya, and leader Basanti Ghimire as proportional representation candidates from Constituency No. 2. District President Himal Dutta Shrestha said that the recommendations were made in a meeting with the participation of the regional committee presidents and office bearers and members in both constituencies.
Congress has recommended the name of Sandeep Rana from both constituencies for the direct election to the House of Representatives. It has recommended the name of Sandeep Rana from Constituency No. 1 alone. From Constituency No. 2 for the House of Representatives, Congress has nominated Lumbini Provincial Assembly member Bir Bahadur Rana, party president Himal Dutta Shrestha, Mahasamiti member Krishna Prasad Basyal, women leader Meena Panthi, women leader Dr. Regional President Muktiram GC said that Maheshwori Kunwar's name was recommended.
