The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Rukum East has recommended the names of nine candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

Due to the large number of aspirants, 9 names have been recommended for direct and 5 for proportional representation.

According to Krishna Regmi, leader of the NCP Rukum East, the names of Ganeshman Pun, Daljit Shripali, Tej Bahadur Oli, Jitman Pun, Subodh Raj Shripali, Lal Bahadur Bista, Kailash Malla, Chandra Rasaili and Sirjana Karki have been recommended for direct representation in the Rukum East district committee meeting held on Thursday.

Similarly, for proportional representation, Sunita Budha has been recommended for women, Dipendra Chhantyal for minorities, Harka Bahadur Kami and Upendra Lal Kami for Dalits and Tikaram Upadhyay for others.

Among those recommended for direct representation, Ganeshman Pun and Daljit Shripali are leaders who have already been elected to the parliament, while the remaining 7 are being recommended for the House of Representatives for the first time.

Another leader of the NCP Rukum East, Ramsur Budha, said that since there are many aspirants, the names of those who are interested have been recommended. ‘Efforts were made to reach an agreement among those who are interested. But the number increased after my friends refused to leave. Now the final decision on the candidate will be taken by the central committee.'
