Police have arrested a defendant who was absconding after being sentenced to prison by the District Court. The Area Police Office, Dhodhari, said that he was arrested while hiding in his own house in Village No. 12, Madhuban Municipality-9.

The arrested person is 30-year-old Manoj Sunar of the same place, said Devendra Kumar Malla, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Bardiya.

Sunar, who was sentenced to 9 months and 24 days in prison in the drug Brown Sugar case by the District Court, Bardiya on 081 Kartik 4 verdict, is an absconding defendant, DSP Malla said.

The arrested Sunar has been presented to the District Court, Bardiya for necessary action, according to the police.
