Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Kishore Singh Rathore has said that burning all three organs of the state, killing Nepalis, and destroying party offices from the center to the districts is not right from any perspective.
Addressing the inauguration program of the newly built Sushil Koirala Memorial Building in Nepalgunj on Tuesday, Rathore said that destruction should not be done in the name of protest.
‘This system is the best system in the world. Even though the person running this system was wrong. It is permissible to oppose it. However, destruction should not be done in the name of protest,’ he said, ‘Today, the buildings of the executive, legislature and judiciary have been burned. Whatever has been burned in the name of Genji, Genji must take responsibility for it.’
Informing that the party has moved ahead with preparations for the 15th general convention and general elections, he said that leaders and cadres from the lower to the upper levels should be active for the party leadership to win with principles, faith and organization and for the elections to be won by the Congress.
Meanwhile, Congress central member Deepak Giri has said that he is a soldier of democracy. He has also announced that he will be a candidate for the post of vice-president in the upcoming general convention of the party. Announcing that he would contest for the post of Vice President from Nepalgunj, he also said that the issue of which group he would contest from would be decided later.
Talking about the Congress general convention, Congress central leader Sanjay Gautam said that the convention is a mandatory condition for a strong Congress. ‘Just as life is essential in a person’s life, the life of a party is also its ideas. The ideas carried by the Congress are driving the world today,’ he said. Congress Banke President Narayan Gaudel and Secretary Sudhanshu Koirala also addressed the meeting.
