Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City was declared a street-dependent human-free municipality on Sunday. The announcement was made after organizing a formal program to mark the success in managing street-dependent people, said Mayor Tikaram Khadka.

He said that in collaboration with Manav Sewa Ashram, they have succeeded in declaring a street human-free municipality. ‘Now no one will have to live on the streets,’ he said, ‘all the helpless will get shelter.’

A street human rescue campaign was launched in the sub-metropolitan city since 2075 BS. During which, the work of searching for and rescuing street human has been regularized at night, said Maya Shrestha, head of the Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City Women, Children and Social Development Branch.

The announcement program was held with the participation of District Coordination Committee Chief Nityanand Sharma, Manav Sewa Ashram Chairman Ramji Adhikari and others. The program informed that a regular campaign for street human rescue will be conducted and the rescued people will be given shelter at Manav Sewa Ashram. Before the announcement program, a market tour was held with musical instruments and tableaus.
