Police have taken two traders into custody with 58 units of vape (electric cigarettes) from Tansen, Palpa. Acting on a special tip-off, the police deployed from the District Police Office have taken Raja Soni, 31, and Alim Mia, 52, of Silkhantol, Tansen Municipality-4, into custody, said Information Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police Hom Prakash Chaudhary.
Police have said that vape was seized during a routine search of Rasta House operated by Sony and Alim Stores operated by Mia. 26 units were found from Rasta House and 32 units from Alim Stores Cosmetic House.
The seized vape and both the people have been taken into custody from both places and sent to the Revenue Investigation Office, Butwal, Rupandehi for necessary action. Recently, the number of youth using vape has increased as vape has become easily available in various flavors.
Traders say that the attraction of youth towards disposable vape is increasing due to the different flavors. Traders say that the retail price of vape in new flavors is 2 thousand. However, the vape device, which charges with electricity and only changes the coil, is more expensive than disposable ones.
Police arrest two youths with drugs
Meanwhile, the District Police Office, Palpa, has taken two people into custody with drugs. Police deployed for highway checking at Sita Pahad, Pipaldanda, Rambha Rural Municipality-3, Palpa along the Siddhartha Highway have taken two youths under control with drugs.
According to Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Hom Prakash Chaudhary, the driver of a motorcycle (Ga 5 Pa 8355) heading from Butwal to Pokhara, Jaydev BK, 30, of Pokhara Metropolitan City-25, Kaski, and Ajit Pariyar, 27, of Pokhara Metropolitan City-27, who was behind the same motorcycle, were found to be transporting drugs.
Police said that they recovered 44 diazepam injections, 44 buprenorphine injections, and 44 phenergan ampoules from them. Based on a confidential tip-off, the police found that the seized drugs were from Ramdi Police Station. When the driver's seat of the motorcycle was opened, it was found hidden under the seat. Police said that the motorcycle driver BK and Pariyar, who were behind the motorcycle, have been taken under control and necessary investigation is underway.
